Peace of mind

Our practitioner’s will ensure you have peace of mind enabling you to leave your child in our care, we will work in close partnership with you to encourage participation in your child’s learning and to ensure a consistent approach to development between home and nursery.

Parents/carers receive feedback from practitioners daily through communication diaries, reports and verbal feedback at the beginning and end of each day.

Support the family

We will ensure ongoing dialogue with parents, this will improve our knowledge allowing us to meet the needs of the child and enabling us to support the family.

Parents’ evenings are held on a regular basis for a more formal dialogue, this gives parents and the Key person the opportunity to share the child’s progress and development as well as set and review targets.

A homely atmosphere for children

The whole team prides itself on creating a homely atmosphere in which they know all children and their individual needs are identified, valued and met. We continually strive to create a warm and nurturing environment in which children feel physically and emotionally safe. Our team is made up of very long term staff who are all childcare qualified and are experienced Early Years Practitioners, including our childcare qualified chef.

At the Nursery, all base rooms operate a Key Person system, which involves each room dividing their children into smaller groups and assigning them to a practitioner. This enables staff to concentrate on individual children’s needs and help the child become more familiar with the setting as well as build solid relationships with their peers and practitioners.

We aim to provide an environment where young children can thrive and parents actively participate in their children’s growth and development.

A healthy diet is essential to a child’s wellness; Humberstone Day Nursery offers a variety of nutritious foods in a calm environment.

I have brought my little girl here since she was 8 months old due to going back to work. As a first-time parent returning to work, I felt very anxious about leaving my child. When we came to have a look around I instantly felt a homely feel from the nursery, which made me feel at ease.All of the staff were friendly and the rooms had a variety of lovely activities going on. My little girl has absolutely thrived being here, she is very happy to go in and puts her arms straight out to the staff member collecting and she has done that from very early on which is very reassuring when I’m off to work.We often get paintings and artwork sent home which is lovely to see.I’m very pleased with my choice of place and feel at ease going to work knowing she is enjoying herself and in good care.

Humberstone Day Nursery is an amazing place for children to learn and grow. My daughter and son both attend the nursery and always come home after always having fun-filled days full of education/stimulating activities, tasty nutritional food and with such friendly, caring, and passionate staff. Humberstone Day Nursery has such a homely feel to it and you don’t ever feel just like a number. The staff really get to know all parents individually and you know that they have the childrens’ best interests and wellbeing at heart. Both of my children have attended this nursery and one of them still does. The staff are so caring and attentive and the children talk about them so fondly at home. My little girl went to school 2 years ago and still talks about her nursery teachers, the food and often says she wishes she still went there because it was so much fun.
